All Grown Up
I feel like I blinked and this school year started and finished before I opened my eyes. Parents always tell you that your child will be 16 before you know it. It really is so true. The kids had a great school year. The teachers were awesome and Irving consistently impresses me. I took some photos on the way to school this morning. Teared up a bit on the way. I just can’t believe how fast it all goes.
When Mr Hodge is away….the parents will play
Surprised the kids this morning when over the intercom it was my voice reading the daily announcements and not the principal’s. “Good morning kids, this is Jonah and Aida’s mom please stand for e pledge of allegiance…”. Reading the lunch menu and encouraging them to buy me petunia’s from the fundraiser for Mother’s Day was the the best. By the end, Jonah’s entire class along with Aida rushed to the office to ask me to do the announcements every day. Just made a memory.

Perfect Day
There are days when my life is exactly how I had hoped it would be. I am forever grateful for the perfect upbringing my parents gave me. I can only hope to give my kids half as much as my parents gave me. Yesterday was just that, the perfect day. We went for an early morning swim and continental breakfast. After that, we drove around the peninsula, stopped at a play park
in Egg Harbor and headed up to Peninsula State Park for a hike. Mind you, my daughter is one that forever scowls
and frowns as the prospect of hiking, walking or any other cardiovascular activity. But, she decided she’d join us. I decided to choose the difficult trail. I’ve wanted to take that trail ever since a bike trip with my father years ago in the park led to my only bike wreck to date. Me and that tree had it out…the tree won, my front brake lost. The hike was amazing.
In honor of my Swedish heritage and desire to see the goats on top of the restaurant, we headed to Johnson’s in Sister Bay for a late lunch, meatballs, potato pancakes, eggs, tomato dill soup, crackers, french toast (and that’s just Jonah’s meal). Great meal and Aida bought a little goat to memorialize the event.
Played at a park and then headed back to the condo to relax and hang out at the pool.
I am so grateful for this fabulous family of mine. The sassy spirit and dedicated partnership we have is
incredible. Thank you God.
Julianne Ingles of InglesArt
I didn’t know I was going to get the chance to meet so many cool and amazing artists during this fundraiser. It makes me so proud to see what people are giving to this cause that they have made with their own hands. I was luck enough to meet Julianne Ingles of InglesArt at her friend’s studio and home in Lakeview. She has just returned to the states from a long stint in England. Writer and painter she was warm, curious about our fundraiser and excited to participate. It was very hard for me to choose between the 4 paintings. There were two that called my name. At first, the other was louder, but Bottle #1 shown here prevailed.
I am so happy to have met her. I hope to show her around Oak Park in a few weeks.
Auction Items galore
Happy new year!!! Happy fundraising
I am obsessed with soliciting donations to the fun fair silent auction. See the local businesses that are donating items here. The thing is that I am not even on the committee. Oh well, I have been getting such a great response. Now I can’t stop. I’ve been contacting local Etsy crafters and artists. They have been awesome!
Each of these guys have agreed to donate something. Go to the links. Let’s make them see it’s worth it. Who wouldn’t want some of this stuff???
